The manager of the national team, Oliver Bierhoff has surprised with critical statements about national coach Joachim Loew. "Of course, Jogi knows that he has now gambled away a certain credit and that he has to bring results," said Bierhoff the Sky format "Wontorra on Tour".
Basically Loew "always very relaxed," said Bierhoff. He has already experienced the national coach in many pressure situations and said that these are "actually the moments that make him strong, because then he keeps calm, because then he actually thinks of the matter, not of populist decisions."
Discussions about Löw's personnel policy had recently accumulated. For example, despite the violation of defensive chief Niklas Süle Mats Hummels rejected by him not to retrieve the DFB selection.
Even Löw's behavior in the towart question had given him a headwind last. Bierhoff had rejected the criticism of the Bayern leadership to Uli Hoeneß and Karl -Heinz Rummenigge on dealing with goalkeeper Manuel Neuer by the leadership of the German national football team.
During the European Championship qualifier in Estonia (3-0) in October, there had also been "Loew out" calls from the German fans. "These are actually the moments that make him strong, because then he keeps calm, because then he actually thinks of the matter, not of populist decisions," said Bierhoff.
Bierhoff and Löw have been working together for the national team since 2004. At the takeover of the team by Jürgen Klinsmann Löw was assistant coach, Bierhoff joined as a team manager. After the early World Cup finals in 2018, both were the first time more criticized. Both had previously publicly stressed that they had a good relationship with each other.
