In the final, the 23-year-old won on Sunday against defending champion Jelina Switolina 6: 4, 6: 3.
All five previous games against the Ukrainian had lost to Barty. But this year, the French Open winner, who is the first Australian since 15 weeks leading the world rankings, unstoppable and turned after just under two hours her first of three match balls against the previous year's winner from the Ukraine.
