NBA: New career record of Doncic is not enough

The Dallas Mavericks lost their home game against the New York Knicks on Friday night. The team of German international Maxi Kleber defeated despite a career best by Luka Doncic 102: 106.

An outstanding Luka Doncic was not enough in the end. From the outset, the 20-year-old took responsibility in his second NBA season and was directly involved in the first seven baskets of the Mavericks. After a balanced first half, New York pulled away in the third quarter, leading at times to double digits.

Again it was Doncic, who in the meantime grabbed the game. With eight points in a row, he cut to 80:84 before the final quarter. In the fourth quarter Dallas then remained but in between more than four minutes without a single point, so that in the end, despite 38 points, 14 rebounds and ten assists Doncic not enough for a win. Kleber came up with eight points and five rebounds.

Next defeat for Wagner and Bonga

For the Washington Wizards with Moritz Wagner put it in the eighth game the sixth defeat. In the 100: 113 against the Cleveland Cavaliers scored Wagner eight points and eight Rebouns. His national team colleague Isaac Bonga was not used.

The team of the hour in the NBA are the Los Angeles Lakers with superstar LeBron James. The 16-time champions won their seventh consecutive game at 95-80 against the Miami Heat, but the Lakers have lost just the opening fixture in the city duel against LA Clippers so far this season. Against Miami, James and Anthony Davis stood out with 25 and 26 points.
