2019-11-09T20:13:56.437Z

The German footballers won in the 90th minute a victory against the World Cup fourth England. For the English women it was a spectator record.

Germany won the friendly against England 2: 1. Alexandra Popp (9th minute) and Klara Bühl (90th) scored the goals for the team of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg. Ellen White scored the equalizer (44 ').

In advance, the game with 90,000 tickets sold was considered sold out, but this possible European record was missed. Nevertheless, the 77,768 spectators at London's Wembley Stadium set a record before the match as never before had more visitors seen a Lionesses home game.

The German team began with an intense and aggressive appearance in the game, so that the DFB-Elf already went in the 9th minute in the lead. Kathrin Hendrich flanked halfway to the center, where captain Popp headed into the right corner.

After half an hour, the English women found more and more in the game, but the first chance of the equalizer missed Nikita Parris from the penalty spot, because DFB goalkeeper Merle Frohms still rescued with the left foot tip. Previously, Frohms risked too much and brought White down (36). A little later, White looked like a cross. She was just offside, the hit should not have counted (44.).
