Al Karama tops the first leg of the Northern Women's Handball League

Al Karama led the first stage of the women's handball league for the Northern Group teams after defeating the group during the matches held in Al-Assad Sports City in Lattakia.

Al Karama came in first place, Mehradah second, Banias refinery third, Aldrekish fourth, Al Ittihad in fifth place and Janata in sixth place.

In the first leg, Al Karama beat Al Drekish 34-12 goals, Al Ittihad 34-1, Banias refinery 27-10, Mharda 28-15 and Janata 25-2.

Handball Federation President Abdel Karim Raie said in a statement to SANA sports reporter that the federation attaches great importance to the young age groups as the real basis that can be relied upon to form our national teams.

Al Karama coach Maysa Mubarak pointed out that her team is always competing for the lead in the junior category, noting that the first stage saw the participation of a number of new players in her team to give them more experience, while expressing her team's readiness to double the training in order to continue the lead in the second stage.
