The Russian boxer Maxim Dadaschew died at the age of 28 years. This was confirmed by his coach Buddy McGirt. In a fight on Friday Dadaschew had suffered several heavy head hits, McGirt had ended the fight then. Dadaschew was then admitted with brain hemorrhage in a hospital in Maryland and put into an artificial coma. Only four days after the fight he succumbed to his injuries.
Dadashev's super light-weight fight against Subriel Matías had been a tough one and had taken until the eleventh round when his coach announced the task. The boxer should have already passed in the cabin.
Previously, Dadaschew had remained undefeated in 13 fights. The Russian was born in Saint Petersburg, but lived and trained in California. The case and the treatment in the hospital will be examined very closely, said Umar Kremlyov, head of the Russian Boxing Association.
