The sports court of the football circle Essen has locked a nearly complete team after a physical attack on a referee for at least a year. The court suspended already on 5 November ten players of the second team of the BV Altenessen for twelve months and three more even for two years. The court chairman Jürgen Dirnberger confirmed a report of the Funke media group.
The incident over which the district court judged, therefore, took place on October 13 in Essen immediately after the game in the county league C between the second teams of Altenessen and Barisspor 84 food (1: 3). According to witnesses, players of the BV Altenessen attacked after the match the referee, who belongs to the same club, and partly followed him into the cabin. The referee lost a tooth and suffered knee injuries.
Ten players who are said to have rushed the referee across the court were suspended for one year. Two years of suspension were pronounced against the footballers who are said to have entered the cabin. In addition, the coach of the BVA received a six-month suspension because he should have touched the referee. "This was considered a minor case," explained Dirnberger. According to information from the Funke media group, the club has now deregistered the entire team from the game operation.
