Tottenham Hotspur have appointed Jose Mourinho as their new coach on a contract until the end of the 2022-2023 season.
The 56-year-old Portuguese coach returns for the first time since he was sacked from Manchester United last December and will replace Mauricio Pochettino, who was sacked by Tottenham on Tuesday.
"We now have one of the most successful football coaches," Tottenham president Daniel Levy said in a statement on the club's website.
Tottenham, currently 14th in the league, will be Mourinho's third English club.
"I'm excited to join a club with such a great legacy and passionate fans," said the Portuguese coach. "The competence in the squad and the youth academy excite me ... Working with these players is what attracts me.
