Once again, a referee has been attacked at a football match. In the association Cup match TuS Rüssingen against Alemannia Waldalgesheim in Rhineland-Palatinate, a player of the home team struck a linesman in the face. Then the referee broke the game after 38 minutes, as Waldalgesheim coach Aydin Ay said on Wednesday evening the German press agency. The police were initially unaware of the incident on request. Earlier, the "Allgemeine Zeitung" (Online) reported on the attack.
Before the attack, the Rüssinger player had received a red card because of a foul. Rüssingen played already because of a yellow-red card in outnumbered, but led in the semifinals 1-0.

- Riesling-Udo (@Saumaage) 20 November 2019Waldalgesheim coach Ay demanded that the association must award its team at the Green Table the victory and thus the final. "We have been deprived of the sporting opportunity to enter the final," said Ay. He pointed out that his team still had about 60 minutes to turn the game against eight opponents.
Verbal and physical attacks against referees had last moved the amateur football. In Berlin, there was a referee strike, also made the case of an unconscious beaten referee in southern Hesse nationwide headlines.
