Canada have qualified for the Davis Cup semi-finals after doubles Vasik Bospicil and Dennis Shapovalov settled the match against Australia.
Buspiecel, ranked 150th in the world, gave Canada the lead when he beat John Millman 7-6 6-4 in the first singles encounter.
Shapovalov almost secured his country's place against Alex de Meno but lost 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 before replacing him with Buspicel in the doubles, beating Jordan Thompson and John Byers 6-4, 6-4.
Canada play in the semi-finals tomorrow against Serbia or Russia.
