KAMPALA (Reuters) - Syria's Kamel Hemicha has been named best player in the sixth round of the Asian Cup and Asian Cup qualifiers.
"It is clear that the young Syrian midfielder, Kamel Hamicha, has clearly announced his upcoming talent in the skies of Asian football," the AFC said on its official website.
"The 21-year-old Teshreen player played as a substitute in previous matches for the Syrian national team, but has appeared as a starter in both matches against China and the Philippines," the federation added.
The Union continued: The beginning of the rising player with the Syrian junior team during the AFC U-16 Championship 2014 and then participated with the Olympic team in the AFC U-23 Championship 2020, where Syria got the card to qualify for the finals.
"During the match against the Philippines, Hamicha showed great confidence in the midfield, both in building attacks and on the defensive side," he said.
