In the second division match between Hannover 96 and Darmstadt 98, there was a strange scene shortly before the end: In the 88th minute Hannover's Marc Stendera shot the ball from distance to the supposed 2: 2 in the angle. But after using the video assistant, the goal did not count because referee Martin Thomsen had previously deflected the ball to Stendera. Since this season, the game must be stopped after a ball touch of the referee and continue with a ball of arbitration.
Hannover lost the debut of the new coach Kenan Kocak 1: 2 (1: 2) and slipped by the sixth defeat of the season on the relegation place. After seven home games 96 is still waiting for the first victory.
