Barcelona star Lionel Messi entered the Champions League history by scoring a goal against Borussia Dortmund in the group stage.
Messi contributed to a 3-1 win over Dortmund by scoring the second goal, becoming the first player in history to score against 34 different teams in the Champions League.
The 32-year-old Messi, who celebrated his 700th appearance in Barcelona, was the only player to break this historic record after breaking his partnership with Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored 33 different teams and retired Spanish star Raul Gonzalez, who also scored 33 different teams.
Messi raised his tally to the 114th goal in the Champions League, narrowing the gap with Ronaldo, who is the historic goalscorer of the tournament with 127 goals.
