Russia's Krasnodar won 1-0 at home to Basel in their Group E match on Saturday.
The Russian team owes their victory to Brazilian striker Ari, who scored his only goal in the 72nd minute from a penalty he had received himself, before being sent off the pitch when the game was breathing his last breath.
Krasnodar lifted their tally to nine points and are third in Group C on goal difference behind Getafe, who in turn beat Trabzon of Turkey with the same result, while freezing Basel at 10 points and remained in the lead.
