Schalke's century coach Huub Stevens was not only serenaded on his 66th birthday, but was also allowed to celebrate a victory by Schalke. Schalke won 2-1 (1-1) against Union Berlin at the start of matchday 13. Benito Raman scored the lead for hosts (23 minutes), Marcus Ingvartsen scored for a penalty (36 '). Suat Serdar (86 ') scored for the late winner. Schalke are second, Union is eleventh.
After a pass from Schalke goalkeeper Alexander Nübel into the feet of Unions Ingvartsen, the guests would have gone almost four minutes into the lead. Ingvartsen's shot was deflected by Matija Nastasic, who just missed the goal. Union Berlin was in the episode to note the self-confidence after four wins in a row. After 20 minutes, the guests had already made four shots, Schalke still no.
With the first chance the host took the lead. A too short header defense took Raman directly from scarcely 16 meters by force shot - and met worth seeing under the bar. Union remained the better team and equalized after a very questionable penalty whistle. Robert Andrich was already off the hook before coming into contact with Nastasic. Referee Daniel Schlager did not check the situation on screen. Ingvartsen made sure.
Schalke marches, Union counters
