Werder Bremen has again won a game in the Bundesliga after eight games without a win. The SVW won 3: 2 (2: 1) at VfL Wolfsburg and extended the distance to the relegation place for the 2nd Bundesliga on three points. Milot Rashica scored by hand penalty 1: 0 (13th minute). Although Wout Weghorst equalized (36.), but Leonardo Bittencourt brought Bremen back into the lead (39.). William then shot the 2-2 (74.), but Rashica scored the winning goal (83).
The victory puts Bremen at least provisionally in twelfth place, Wolfsburg is currently ninth. Mainz 05 will face Eintracht Frankfurt on Monday and could overtake Bremen with a win.
No team seemed superior in the opening stages, but after 12 minutes the first goal fell. After a shot from Yuya Osako the ball jumped only a few meters Joshua Guilavogui to the knee and from there to the outstretched arm. After intervening the video assistant referee Robert Kampka gave Werder penalty. Turned Rashica into the lead (13 ').

After Wolfsburg had more possession, but hardly came once dangerously into the Bremen penalty area. For that it needed a standard - a typical weakness of the Bremer in this season. But again, the video assistant interfered and referee Kampka decided later on offside (61). The gate did not count. A little later Wolfsburg wanted to have a penalty after Weghorst had slipped on the lying on the ground Theodor Gebre Selassie. Kampka did not decide on penalty (68.).
But then the balance fell. Midfield player William hit the ball on the six-yard box and hit the right corner with a cudgel to make it 2-2 (74 '). Four minutes later, Maximilian Eggestein set free in the back of the defense, but the Werderaner scored the goal from ten meters (78 '). In the final stages, however, the decision was made, after a counter hit again Rashica with a shot in the penalty area to the final (83.).
Wolfsburg's coach Oliver Glasner had come in after Daniel Ginczek about 20 minutes from time. For the striker, it was after a back surgery, the first Bundesliga game for the VfL for more than six months.
