Ester Ledecká celebrated her next success on skis after her Olympic victory in 2018. The Czech, who has been the best snowboarder in the world for years, won the race on Friday in Canada ahead of Corinne Suter from Switzerland (+0.35 seconds) and the Austrian Stephanie Venier (+0.45). The 24-year-old clinched her first victory and her first podium finish in the Alpine Ski World Cup, having surprisingly won Olympic gold in the Super-G in Pyeongchang. Their success in Lake Louise proves that winning the medal was no coincidence.

"It feels great," Ledecká said after the victory. "Good that the race still took place, I enjoyed it." For a short time a cancellation of the downhill had been in the room, because new snow covered the track. The departure was shortened, however, and still could take place. So far, Ledecká's best finish in the Alpine Skiing World Cup had been seventh place.
The German Viktoria Rebensburg was third long, before she was still displaced to fourth place (+0,66). Kira Weidle finished eighth (+0.47), Michaela Little 23. (+2.08). Patrizia Dorsch, Katrin Hirtl-Stanggaßinger and Veronique Hronek did not make it into the top 30.
"The conditions were not easy, but the track is already quite good for me, I got the maximum out, I'm really happy with my ride, I drove at the limit and I've done the things I've planned," said Rebensburg , As the first starter she had to fight because of the new snow with unfavorable conditions.
