The winning streak continues: If Jarl Magnus Riiber wins the next race as well, no killer has started the season as well as the Norwegian. For Fabian Rießle and Vinzenz Geiger the photo had to decide.

Norway's combination star Jarl Magnus Riiber has also won the fourth race of the season and thus set the World Cup starting record. The 22-year-old normal hill world champion prevailed in Lillehammer with 46.4 seconds ahead of his compatriot Jörgen Graabak. Third was Fabian Rießle (+46.6 seconds) in the photo finish ahead of Vinzenz Geiger (+46.7) for the second German podium finish of the winter.

Riiber set a 16- and 26-year-old record. The Norwegian Kenji Ogiwara (1993/1994) and Ronny Ackermann (2003/2004), who had won all three races in Kuusamo last week, were already in the DSV coaching staff, started the season with four wins. Both had the first defeat in the fifth race. Riiber can thus become the sole record holder in the second individual competition on Sunday.

Although the DSV athletes took the second podium of the season, against Riieber they still had no chance. "Riiber jumps around our ears, he is a class better," said national coach Hermann Weinbuch on ZDF. Rießle also placed the Norwegian "in his own league". Eric Frenzel (7th), Terence Weber (11th) and Johannes Rydzek (15th) made it to the points thanks to strong mileages.

"I am very satisfied, especially with the running performance, we have set the tone," said Weinbuch. With 1.40 and 1.49 minutes behind Riiber, Geiger and Rießle started in 7th and 11th. Rydzek started the race only as 36.

In Lillehammer a team competition was planned for Saturday. Because until Friday but had not reported the necessary number of teams, the World Federation FIS canceled the season at short notice and set up an additional single competition.
