Defender Raphael Varane scored Real's first goal in the 37th minute, while Karim Benzema added the second goal 11 minutes before the end.
Real ended the game with ten players after the left-back Ferran Mendi was sent off after receiving the second yellow card in the 83rd minute.
Real has 34 points from 15 games, three points behind champions Barcelona, who will regain the lead if they beat Real Mallorca today as well.
