The Australian Football Association has announced that national captain Mark Milligan has retired from international football.

The 34-year-old participated with Australia in the last four copies of the World Cup and started his international career against Liechtenstein in June 2006 and played 80 games with his country.

Milligan wore the Australian captain's armband 19 times and last appeared in the team with five cleansings over Nepal last October in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
