SSC Naples separates from coach Carlo Ancelotti

Carlo Ancelotti could not save the progress in the Champions League. SSC Naples have parted ways with their coach. The hottest candidate for the succession is Gennaro Gattuso.



A few hours after the 4: 0 (3: 0) against the KRC Genk and the associated reaching the round of 16 in the Champions League, the SSC Naples has separated from their coach Carlo Ancelotti. This was announced by the club via Twitter.

The 60-year-old Italian had been the two-time Italian champion since the summer of 2018. In the past season, he was with the SSC runner-up behind Juventus, currently the team is only after seventh game days in seventh place.

Ancelotti, who also played for FC Bayern München from 1 July 2016 to 28 September 2017, was one of only three coaches to win the Champions League three times and was the champion in Italy, England, Spain, France and Germany.

The hottest candidate for his succession was traded in the Italian media last Gennaro Gattuso. Gattuso, who became world champion in 2006, had recently coached AC Milan.
