National player Christoph Ullmann has played well over 900 games in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). Now the former international announced: After the season is over. "After 19 years of DEL professional ice hockey, it is time for me to say goodbye and leave the young cracks to the ice rink," the 36-year-old is quoted in a statement from his club Augsburg Panther.
The striker has recorded 224 goals and 260 assists for Augsburg, Mannheim and Cologne. With the eagles, Ullmann, whose DEL record scorer he is, won the championship in 2007 and 2015. At the end of October, the striker played his 900th game in the top German division. For the German national team, Ullmann took part in ten world championships. His greatest success was fourth at the 2010 Home World Cup.
"Together with the team, I would like to bring this season to a good end and sniff playoff air again," it continues. "Only then will I look forward to the time afterwards and to see you again with familiar faces next to the ice rink."
