After his hard foul, Schalke goalkeeper Alexander Nübel has been suspended for four Bundesliga games. The "Bild" newspaper and the "Kicker" report this in unison. There has not yet been a notification from the German Football Association.
The 23-year-old Nübel jumped against the chest with a stretched leg and the studs ahead on Sunday at 0-1 against Bundesliga opponent Eintracht Frankfurt opponent Mijat Gacinovic. Nübel saw the red card (66th minute), Gacinovic was replaced and taken to the hospital. The Frankfurt suffered a severe rib bruise during the foul. Nübel later apologized to Gacinovic.
Nübel missed the last two games of the year in Wolfsburg on Wednesday (8.30 p.m.) and against SC Freiburg on Saturday (3.30 p.m., both games in the SPIEGEL live ticker) as well as the first two duels of the second half against Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC Bayern Munich , Markus Schubert should represent Nübel in the upcoming games, the 21-year-old switched from Dresden to the current fourth in the Bundesliga in the summer.
