Almost the surprise of the round, just about. Maccabi Tel Aviv completes a perfect first round with a win in the Candle Garden on Gilboa / Galilee 110: 112. Maccabi came in a very lacking lineup, but this game also did not give up and won a huge drama after two extensions. The win was achieved a lot thanks to 68 points by Scottie Wilbkin (35) and Jake Cohen. Gilboa / Galil did not take the opportunity to beat Maccabi in such a lineup. Opportunities need to be exploited, the host didn't know and with one win in the last eight games.
Two other missing persons were joined by Maccabi's wounded order: Tyler Dorsey and Othello Hunter. The guests came on the shortest roster with six senior players and only three foreigners.
The Yellows started well and early in the second quarter led 22:29. The visitors responded well with a good second quarter offensive (27 points) and defensive (absorbed 14). Jarmar Galli won the offensive work (17 points in the first half) and Gilboa dropped to 37:46. Early in the second half, she increased it to a record-breaking 13th difference (37:50).
Maccabi Tel Aviv returned with Scottie Wilbkin, Jake Cohen and Danny Abadia with points in color and rose to 55:56, and at the end of the third quarter equalized 60:60.
Gilboa again with Galey on a big evening (34 points) went up to 66: 73 - 4 minutes to go. Jake Cohen scored an excellent 43 seconds in the evening and dropped to 75:77. Galli scored twice from the line, but Wilbkin in the basket and a penalty point lowered to 78: 79, 27 seconds to go. Amit Gershon increased the triple to 78: 82 14 seconds to finish. That wasn't enough. Buzzer Scott Wilbkin forced an 83:83 extension.
Extending the lead five times, Maccabi went up to 92:95 with Wilbkin and then Edgar Sosa came on the buzzer at three and forced another 95:95.
In the second extension Maccabi led 100: 106. Gilboa had a chance to go for a third extension or win, but Yiftach Ziv lost a 16-second ball to the end and Abadia closed the game.

First Quarter: The visitors opened the game tightly and went up to a quick 2: 8, while the hosts were having a hard time and were unable to produce too much of an attack. Gilboa woke up and her 0-6 run brought the Lyubin players back into the game. Towards the end of the quarter the threes began to come in, and Wilbkin with three threes set the quarter: 19:23 for the yellows.
Second Quarter: Maccabi introduced a scattered game and allowed Gilboa to rise to the lead. Liubin's foreigners led by Galli (15 points at the half), and Renado and Tillman made the break with a surprising result: 37:46.
Third quarter: The hosts went up a double-digit lead, but Wilbkin with two threes and Jake Cohen's good ability managed to compare the results towards the fourth quarter: 60:60 at the end of the quarter.
Fourth Quarter: The quarter opened with a 5: 9 run by the host which caused Sparopoulos to take a timeout, 6 minutes to end the game. Galli continued to stand out and with a great layup set 66:73, which sent Sparopoulos to call for another timeout. The Yellows stayed tight, Galli scored 2 penalty shots, but a basket and a Willkin offense brought the Yellows to a point difference only. Galli penetrated Gershon who scored a great three-pointer 12 seconds to finish, but Acey returned his own three. Sosa scored just one shot from the line, and Wilbkin sent the game to an 83:83 extension.
Extension: The game continued to be tight when both teams failed to create an advantage. Wilbkin's big basket 8 seconds into the extension gave the visitors a 3-point lead, but an incredible three-pointer by Edgar Sosa on the buzzer set a second extension.
Second Extension: Jake Cohen's 7 points opened a 6-point differential, with just two minutes on the clock. Sussman's basket raised to 105: 110, Yiftach Ziv ran, missed, Tillman took the back ball, drowning and also extorted a foul - 108: 110. Yiftach Ziv's kidnapping could have ended in equality or home advantage but he delivered a bad one and lost the ball.
