Manchester City lost a lead at Wolverhampton Wanderers and lost 2: 3 (1: 0). Raheem Sterling scored both goals for the 80-minute outnumbered guests (25th minute by penalty, 50th). Adama Traoré (55.), Raúl Jiménez (82.) and Matt Doherty (89.) scored for the Wolves, who won this return for the first time since 1961 against City. For City it was the fifth defeat in the current Premier League season. In the entire past league season, the reigning champions had only lost four times.

At first it was Jiménez who only had to insert after Benjamin Mendy lost the ball and Traoré's pass (82nd) before Doherty Citys nodded Nicolás Otamendi and turned a crazy game in favor of the hosts.
City missed the chance to position themselves as the first chaser of league leaders Liverpool (52) on matchday 19 and remains third behind Leicester at 38 points. The league runner-up could have reduced the deficit to Liverpool to seven points in the direct duel the previous day, instead went down 0: 4 against Jürgen Klopp's team.
Some Premier League clubs will have to play two games in less than 48 hours in the coming days. City, for example, will get the next game on Sunday (7 p.m.) when Sheffield United will be a guest on the tight schedule. Liverpool received the inferior Wolves 90 minutes earlier.
