The CIES Football Observatory (International Center for the Study of Sport), located in Neuchâtel in Switzerland, published this Tuesday its traditional list of players from the five major championships with the highest estimated transfer values.

The first remains Kylian Mbappé, valued at 265.2 million euros (M €), up from the last estimate of 252 M €. The world champion is followed by Manchester City's Englishman Raheem Sterling (€ 223.7 million) and then by Liverpool's Egyptian Mohammed Salah (€ 175.1 million).

By line, the most expensive players in terms of transfer value are Alisson Becker (Liverpool) among the goalkeepers (87 M €), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) among the central defenders (93 M €), Trent Alexander -Arnold (Liverpool) among the side players (110 M €), James Maddison (Leicester) among the midfielders (112 M €) and therefore Kylian Mbappé among the attackers. Eleven of the twenty players estimated at more than € 100 million play in the English Premier League.

Leandro Paredes more expensive than Raphaël Varane

After Mbappé, the most expensive player in PSG is logically named Neymar, according to this Observatory. According to him, the Brazilian would only be worth € 100.4 million. An estimate far below its real value on the transfer market since it could leave the PSG for around 170 M € this summer.

Equally surprisingly, Leandro Paredes is the 3rd most expensive Parisian with an estimate of € 64.5 million (more expensive than Raphaël Varane!) Followed by Abdou Diallo at € 63 million. Marquinhos only slipped to 4th place in the PSG ranking, with € 56.4 million. Pablo Sarabia peaks at € 56.1 million and the improbable Thilo Kehrer would have a transfer value of € 54.2 million. Mauro Icardi, very successful and still young (26), would only be worth € 50.7 million, which like Neymar, seems quite far from its real value.

Behind Mbappé, the second Frenchman in this assessment is named Antoine Griezmann (Barcelona), estimated at € 123.6 million. Ousmane Dembele (Barcelona) with € 84.3 million arrives 40th. Paul Pogba is 48th with € 80.4 million.
