PSG-Saint-Etienne: the ratings of Parisian players

2020-01-08T22:53:24.417Z

The player on loan from Inter Milan scored his first hat-trick in Paris in the quarter-final victory in the League Cup (6-1).

As expected, Thomas Tuchel aligned his best team of the moment. With a new offensive recital to the key led by his quartet composed of Di Maria, Neymar, Mbappé and Icardi, involved in the six goals of his team against ASSE (6-1).

Rico: 6. The Spanish goalkeeper postponed his second penalty in four days, but could not do anything about the recovery of Cabaye (71st). For the rest, it was little used but effective.

Meunier: 6. The Belgian slid the ball in timing to launch Icardi and PSG on the right track (2nd). His second assist of the season at the start of a problem-free match.

Marquinhos: 6. Some errors in the fiber of a recovery match, such as a poor recovery (6th), a missed cross (18th) or a curiously conceded corner (35th). Very easy then.

Kehrer: 4. The German defender is not very reassuring when he has the ball in his feet. He lost too many balls and often seemed to the limit before the Greens play ten, despite his desire to go forward.

Bernat: 5.5. In this configuration, it is less offensive than usual. He could have scored a goal after a fantastic sequence involving Neymar, Mbappé and Gueye, but his shot largely fled the frame (19th).

Di Maria: 7.5. The Argentinian has done everything: he is involved in three goals caused the Stéphanois expulsion then conceded a penalty. He first offered a perfect assist to Neymar, with incredible freedom full axis (39th). He was then the last Parisian to touch the ball on the 3rd goal, before ... three Stéphanois and a post. He also recovered the ball from 4th goal. Replaced by Draxler (81st).

Gueye: 6. In the leg, despite some unsuccessful passes. It drives the action of the opening of the score.

Verratti: 5.5. In this 4-4-2, Verratti is confined to a fairly defensive role. He did quite well even if at 11 against 11, he sometimes had trouble filling the gaps when his attacking teammates were less attentive on the folds. Replaced by Paredes (72nd).

Neymar: 7. Several double contacts and some delicious exchanges with Mbappé with whom he often stayed close. He scored with a dive ball full of touch (39th). It still lacks juice after the holidays but already hurts.

Icardi: 9. The Argentine goleador scored on his first touch of the ball with a strike from the bull. He waited for his second ball of the second period to double the bet with a balanced volley (49th) before offering his first Parisian hat-trick, still in fox. He has 17 goals in 19 games in Paris and that's not all. His control of tiptoe in extension and his decisive pass to Mbappé on the next ball is a masterpiece. Replaced by Cavani (72nd).

Mbappé: 8. The attacker had juice. His rake sequence - passes from the flat of the foot behind the support leg on the 3rd goal is a treat. He was a decisive passer on the 4th and 5th goals, where he did all the work for Icardi (49th and 59th), before scoring himself (67th).
