Cheers Silves has run out of defense for the past month. A blow of injuries brought them down one by one. But as in life, when all the clothes are dirty, you scurry at the end of the closet to find something to wear and so it happened to Silves with a fadida storm.

In the absence of defensive players, Silves took Padida from the roster to the right defender position. Padida is a knot at all, but comes from a fashion store and quickly the one that sometimes the last item in the closet is the best fit for the show. So he took his chance with two hands. His victory over MS Ashdod cut a series of four consecutive losses, just as owner Yoav Katz landed in the country and came to see his team.

On the other hand, Ashdod was so weak that Hapoel Haifa felt comfortable with the blow of injuries in their defense. No proper offensive move, no nothing. That's how it is with Ashdod this season. There is no middle. Either its front end has exhausted all its talent or it has disappeared. In such a crowded league, Haifa is still in the leading position for the top playoffs (despite four losses) and Ashdod can continue to shuffle in hopes that it will suffice in the end.
