In the general classification of the World Cup, the French widens the gap on his Norwegian rival Johannes Boe, absent in Germany.

Martin Fourcade continues. The seven-time Olympic medalist won this Thursday in the sprint in Ruhpolding, Germany, ahead of another Frenchman, Quentin Fillon-Maillet. After his two victories at Oberhof this weekend, the 31-year-old tricolor biathlete takes advantage of this new success to stand out at the top of the general classification of the World Cup and widen the gap with the ex-leader Johannes Boe, absent during the last tests to follow the birth of his partner.

The five-time Olympic champion, author of a flawless shooting, offers his fourth victory of the season, his third of the year 2020 where he won all types of individual races. The French team achieved a pretty collective performance since, in addition to its leader and Fillon-Maillet, two other French biathletes - Fabien Claude and Simon Desthieux - finished fifth in the race.

In addition to the sprint, the male biathletes are expected on the relay on Saturday and the pursuit on Sunday in Ruhpolding.
