The federal body reacted to the words of the mother of Adrien Rabot, who had called a liar, Noël Le Graët, the president of the FFF.

The French Federation tried to bring together President Noël Le Graët and Adrien Rabiot to discuss the future of the player in the France team, but the intervention of his mother and adviser made the project collapse, justified the FFF Friday, in response to Véronique Rabiot. International 6 times, the 25-year-old midfielder has not been called back since his refusal to be a reservist in the spring of 2018, just before the World Cup won by the Blues in Russia.

“I asked Adrien Rabiot to come and explain himself in my office. And it was Madame Rabiot who responded by saying that she wanted to come alone first to the meeting. I told him that it was out of the question, even in dreams, ”said Mr. Le Graët after the tournament. “Then there was a second contact, where she told us, this time, that she would come with her son. It was not what I wanted, so there was no meeting, ”he explained to L'Equipe.

Le Graët's remarks were "totally factually true"

Véronique Rabiot delivered her version on Thursday on the L'Equipe channel. "I know that the journalists say that I had contacts with Mr. Le Graët, which is false. […] Today, completely straight in my boots, I tell you: Mr. Le Graët is a liar . I have in no way spoken with M. Le Graët ".

Questioned by AFP, the Federation acknowledges that Mrs. Rabiot never had direct contact with the president of the FFF, but affirms that Mr. Le Graët never claimed that.

The secretariat of Mr. Le Graët called Adrien Rabiot on October 18, 2018 to propose an appointment, then sent him the following day by text, for lack of response. His mother then offered to come alone, according to the Federation.

In a letter dated December 5, 2018, Ms. Rabiot then offered to come with her son. Attempts at telephone contact took place between the secretariat and the player's adviser, without success, according to the same source. The words of Mr. Le Graët in L'Equipe were therefore "totally factually true", the FFF insisted, adding that the 78-year-old leader would not speak on the subject.
