As revealed on Thursday France Bleu Pays basque, the Commercial Court of Bayonne (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) pronounced on January 13 the judicial liquidation of the holding company which allowed the former back of the XV of France Serge Blanco to manage his different cases, including the Hendaye thalassotherapy center. In its judgment, the court noted that the holding company SBLC had to face a liability of 11,330,171.32 euros.
The difficulties of the holding company have a direct impact on the Hendaye thalassotherapy complex. In 2019, operating losses were in the range of 600,000 to 800,000 euros. According to management, strikes and the movement of yellow vests are one of the causes. Placed in receivership, the spa can continue its activity for a period of 6 months. An observation period which can be extended twice. The debts are then frozen and the period must allow the thalassotherapy to raise the bar.
The hotel adjoining the thalassotherapy center, Ibaia Iru, was also placed in receivership with the same observation period of six months. The Sokoburru site employs 150 people. Already in 2019, the luxury hotel in Brindos in Anglet had to close its doors after a liquidation procedure of this same court. The sale of the establishment could, in part, come to settle the commercial debts of Serge Blanco, engaged on the opposition list led by Florian Grill for the federal elections of October 2020, in the reconquest of the French Rugby Federation .
