Steph Kerry revealed that in the 2009 draft of the NBC he hoped he thought he would be chosen by the New York Knicks, not by Golden State. In the Warriors uniform, Kerry won the MVP title twice, along with three championships and appearing in five consecutive finals.
"I wanted to go to New York and thought I was going there," the coordinator shared on the Showtime Network podcast. "During the draft in Green Room, I thought, 'Oh, the eighth pick will come soon and the Knicks will pick me up.'
31-year-old Kerry, who is recovering from a crisis in his hand, now says he will never want to leave Golden State. "I don't want to go anywhere. I love the bay."
Who the Knicks ultimately chose eighth place is forward Jordan Hill, who moved to Houston after 24 games, in a deal that brought New York to Tracy McGrady.
