The week ahead was going to be complicated for Didier Dinart, the coach of the French handball team after the fiasco of the last Euro and the pitiful elimination in the first round.
But, ultimately, the suspense around the future of the 43-year-old coach will not last. According to information from "L'Équipe" that we are able to confirm, Dinart will be ousted from his post.
This should fall to his assistant, Guillaume Gille. It is up to him to lead the commando operation, from April 16 to 19, during the Olympic Qualification Tournament (TQO) where the Blues will try to win their ticket for the Tokyo Olympics.
A delicate Olympic qualification tournament
The mission will be delicate since France will notably face Croatia, vice-champion of Europe 2020, Portugal (who has just beaten France twice in the last three meetings) and an African country (Tunisia, Algeria or Angola).
Only the first two places will offer a ticket to Tokyo. It is therefore in the urgency of this TQO which promises to be more complicated than expected that the National Technical Directorate (DTN) has made the decision to oust Didier Dinart whose relationship with the main executives of the Blues had deteriorated since some time.
