More recently, tennis has been hit by another scandal. On January 24, Andrew Geddes, former coach at Sarcelles and Levallois, was sentenced to eighteen years in prison for "rape and sexual assault on four of his former players, aged 12 to 17 at the time of the events".

Three other women, aged 15 to 17 at the time, also said that they had been sexually assaulted and raped several times between 2001 and 2005.

Football splashed at the start of the year

At the start of the year, it was football that was splashed this time. A 46-year-old father is prosecuted for "rape, attempted rape, sexual assault and corruption of minors" on players of FC Magnanvillle (Yvelines) whom he coached. Five victims between the ages of 14 and 16 were identified for incidents dating back to 2016 and 2017. The man was taken into custody.
