Al-Sahel women's basketball team will meet today with the Emirati Al-Nasr team in a friendly match in preparation for facing Bahrain’s Riffa next Friday in its second match in the first group in the fifth Arab club of clubs currently held in the Emirate of Sharjah.

Al-Sahel finished his training preparations for this match under the supervision of the technical staff, consisting of coach Ala Taha and coaches Ziyad Saba, Ali Makki and Hala Shehadeh.

Al-Sahel presented an acceptable level in the first appearance of the Syrian clubs in the Arab championships after a ten-year absence despite losing to the previous title champion Sporting Egypt by 24 points by 66-42 points after the match quarters ended 13-11 points, 11-10 points and 24-10 points And 18-11 points.

Al-Sahel Basketball Club lost to Sporting Al-Masry today 42-66 points in the opening of its participation in the Arab Clubs Championship hosted by Sharjah until the twelfth of this month.

The organizing committee amended the basketball competition schedule to become the new date for the next match against Bahraini Riffa next Friday at 4:00 pm Damascus time instead of eight in the morning, to conclude its matches in the first round next Saturday by meeting Jordan’s Fuheis.

The first group, along with the Sahel team, includes the Egyptian Sporting, the Bahraini Riffa, and the Jordanian Fuheis, while the second group includes the Emirati Sharjah, the Algerian Petroleum Complex, Amal Al-Tunisi, the Kuwaiti girl, and Saudi Elite Athletics.

The Sahel team consists of players Batoul Ahmed, Rasha Sakran, Afaf Obaid, Reem Abu Rahhal, Rola Hammadi, Sawsan Jamal Al-Din, Aya Shamma and Mai Othman, and the Revolution Club player Sidra Suleiman in addition to the Serbian professional Melissa Dabovic, the American Britney Bird and the Colombian Narlene Cordoba.
