There was something going on in the senior races: the sports bowlers in the “Zugspitze” district held exciting competitions in Eberfing, in which the field was mixed up.

Eberfing - it went haywire in the final races of the senior sports bowlers in the "Zugspitze" bowling circle - and in an absolutely positive sense. The participants fought exciting competitions on the tracks in Eberfing in the three age groups, in which the field was whirled around in comparison to the preliminaries.

Seniors A (from 50 years): In the end, the best of the day was also at the top: Aydin Coban (Fortuna Penzberg) delivered an excellent performance with 573 wood. With this, the lead fifth got the gold medal including the district title. The Penzberger was superior to its opponents, especially in clearing (201). For comparison: the second-best clearing result in the final was achieved by Stefan Schwinghammer (Frischauf Weilheim) with 174 wood. Coban came up with a total of 1108 wood and clearly distanced his pursuers.

Skittles: Aydin Coban strong when clearing

The athletes who had achieved the best result with 554 pieces of wood each landed on the other podium places. Michael Heinfling senior (SKC Krün) reached 521 wood in the final and won silver (1075). Thomas Mährlein (Fortuna Penzberg) achieved 516 wood, which earned him bronze (1070). Frischauf player Schwinghammer achieved the second best result in the final (535); seven wood were missing for bronze.

Senior B (60 to 70 y.): Like Aydin Coban with the A senior, Karlheinz Kölsch also stormed to the top in fifth place among the B senior. The district league player from Frischauf Weilheim shone in the final with 563 wood, whereby he triumphed especially in the full (374). With a total of 1080 wood, it was clearly ahead of the overall second, Reinhold Berchtold (1058) from Schwarz-Blau Burggen. He had the second best result in the final (539). Berchtold was strong in clearing (195).

Bowling: Fried distances Kramer around a piece of wood

Bronze went to Manfred Fried (1038 / finals 518) from Blau-Weiß Peiting. He distanced the gold medalist of the past two years, Willi Kramer (Frischauf Weilheim), only by one stick. Kramer was in second place after the lead. Fried had already been on the podium in 2018 - at that time he got silver behind Kramer. The leader after the preliminary, Wolfgang Königbaur (545) from Frischauf Weilheim, was excused in the final.

Seniors C (from 70 y.): In the “Zugspitze” district, the top officials are also up to speed in terms of sport. Hermann Lindner, chairman of the bowlers in the region, won the gold medal at “Senioren C”. In the finals, the second best result of 523 wood was enough for the Wielenbacher, who had been a top performer at Frischauf Weilheim for decades. He moved from third place to the top after the lead. Lindner made a total of 1068 pieces of wood. In 2003 Lindner was Bavarian champion of senior A - at that time he won with a Bavarian record of 981 wood (200 litter).

Bowling: Lindner won in 2003 with a Bavarian record

The lead in the lead, Zivko Labor (Fortuna Penzberg), did not manage so well in the final (497). He left some wood lying around, especially when clearing. He finished second overall (1058). Labor saved three wood lead over Michael Eigner (Gut Holz Huglfing), who had 537 wood in the final, the best result for the over 70s. Ivan Juric (Fortuna Penzberg), the second runner-up, had his problems with the Eberfinger Bahnen that day - he had to be satisfied with 478 wood and fifth place (1027).

This is also interesting:

Ulrike Lachenmayer is expanding her medal collection - there is hardly a national or international, large curling tournament without participants from Peiting. It was no different at the German championship.

Gold and silver for black and yellow Schongau - Schongau's bowlers had to suffer various defeats this season in league games. At the individual championship, a black-yellow duo was now on top.

Three medals for Marianne Grünebach - The “Winter World Masters Games” are the largest winter sport event for senior athletes. Things went well for Marianne and Peter Grünebach - even though they had another competition in focus.

Ramona Resch remains very cool in the “Sudden Victory” - the sprint is a relatively new bowling discipline. Ramona Resch (19) is in a very good mood, as she recently showed at the district championship. It was a very special success.
