The big coup was barely enough. But the U13 soccer players of SG am See did an outstanding job on Sunday
Söcking / Perchting - It was just not enough for the really big coup. But the U13 soccer players of SG am See did an outstanding job on Sunday. They achieved a strong fourth place at the Upper Bavarian Indoor Championship in Garching. "We then celebrated that extensively," said SG trainer Hans Lechner.
The syndicate consisting of SV Söcking and TSV Perchting-Hadorf started the tournament very successfully. Moritz Dirmeier shot his team to a 1-0 victory over the SB Chiemgau Traunstein. Then the young footballers of the coaching duo Hans Lechner / Christian Grötz turned a 1: 2 deficit against FC Wacker Munich. Dirmeier (2) and Yannis Schwab scored in the 3-2. "Our main goal of not being the last one was already achieved," said Lechner happily. But it got better. Felix Grötz scored the only goal in the 1-0 win over hosts VfR Garching and thus secured the semi-finals.
After the 0: 1 against the DJK Ingolstadt, which snatched first place, the SG am See had to compete with top favorite SV Heimstetten in the semifinals. The team from Starnberg fought well and held 0-0 for a long time. In the end, however, it lost 0-2 to the eventual tournament winner. The game for third place was also narrowly lost 0-1 against TSV 1860 Rosenheim. A Sunday shot decided the encounter. Nevertheless, the young footballers with proudly swollen chest were able to leave the hall. "It was a strong team effort," said Lechner, who also gave special praise to goalkeeper Luis Horn. He suffered a capsule injury while warming up, but held out throughout the tournament.
