Al-Sahel Women’s Basketball Team won the Bahraini Riffa Team today with a score of 47-50 in the first group in the fifth Arab Clubs Championship currently held in the Emirate of Sharjah.
Al-Sahel provided a good level in the first appearance of the Syrian clubs in the Arab championships after an absence of ten years, despite losing in the first match in the championship against the Egyptian champion of the previous version, Sporting, by 24 points, by 66-42 points.
Al-Sahel will end its matches in the first round tomorrow with a meeting with the Jordanian Fuheis.
The first group includes, in addition to the Sahel team, the Egyptian Sporting, the Bahraini Riffa, and the Jordanian Fuheis, while the second group includes the Emirati Sharjah, the Algerian Petroleum Complex, Amal Al-Tunisi, the Kuwaiti girl, and the Saudi Elite Athletics.
The Sahel team consists of players Batoul Ahmed, Rasha Sakran, Afaf Obaid, Reem Abu Rahhal, Rola Hammadi, Sawsan Jamal Al-Din, Aya Shama and Mai Othman, and the Revolution Club player Sidra Suleiman in addition to the Serbian professional Melissa Dabovic, the American Britney Bird and the Colombian Narlene Cordoba.
