It was a fast, good and exciting game: at least in the beginning. But then the Starbulls Rosenheim showed EC Peiting that they are pretty uncompromising in front of the goal.

Rosenheim - A high defeat hurts. Really hurt. And the one on Friday evening is high. The EC Peiting in Rosenheim is subject to 1: 7. The “Starbulls” are more effective, lively and clever in front of the gate. On the other hand, the ECP finds no means of playing away.

Sebastian Buchwieser's team is keeping up with the high pace in the Rosenheim ice rink. From the beginning, a fast, body-hugging game develops that the referees can run most of the time. Both teams develop opportunities - Rosenheim has the better ones. And the "Starbulls" know how to use their possibilities ice cold. In the sixth minute, Rosenheim's newcomer, Canadian Jakob Robinson-Smith, takes the disk off the ECP and quickly puts it over to Dominik Daxlberger. It makes short work - and it's 1: 0 for the hosts. A few minutes later, Peiting outnumbered for the first time. As against willows, the ECP tries shots from the Blue Line. Captain Andreas Feuerecker puts on the puck several times, but the tight shots have no consequences - like some ECP attempts in this third. The Rosenheimers, on the other hand, are uncompromising. When the Peitingen defense leaves Joshua Mitchell alone, he sinks the pane to 2-0 in the net. Alexander Höller succeeds 3-0 with a feint a minute later - when the Peitinger expect a pass to ex-ECP player Michael Baindl, Höller simply pulls off. The puck flies past goalie Florian Hechenrieder, slams under the bar on the top right.

"We had a few good chances"

The game has not yet run. ECP attacker Anton Saal makes this clear when he is interviewed by the Rosenheim stadium spokesman in the first break. "We had a few good chances, it is not bad what we play," said Saal in front of the 2100 spectators. "We have to stay positive, nothing is lost yet."

But in the second third, peiting doesn't really get dangerous. Another power play passes unused - but Rosenheim also fails to score with a man on the ice. In five-on-five the bell rings again in the 35th minute. Baindl jumps over the gang onto the ice, receives the puck from Höller and converts to 4: 0. Three minutes later, Peitings Lukas Gohlke scored the 1: 4 goal - but Rosenheim replied clearly: Marinus Reiter put the score to 5: 1 shortly before the second break.

Only 32 seconds to the next hit

In the last third, the Peitinger do not emit the danger that it would now take to turn the game around. Rosenheim can finish his game. For the 6: 1, the "Starbulls" only need 32 seconds after the break. Fabian Zick deflects a shot from the blue line. Andreas Magg, who is now guarding the Peitinger Tor instead of Hechenrieder, has no chance. Around two minutes before the end, the puck strikes behind him again - Höller scores 7-1 in the Powerplay.

It is the end of a bitter game for the ECP. There is not much time for licking wounds - but a quick revenge is possible. Because this Sunday the “Starbulls” are guests in Peiting at 6 p.m.
