About two weeks ago, the world of sports in general and the world of basketball in particular, lost one of the greatest athletes in history after the horrific disaster in which Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven other people were killed.

Now, CNN reports that the National Transportation Safety Board in the United States has ruled out that the helicopter crash was caused by an engine accident. According to CNN, the investigation, which is expected to take quite some time, will focus more on the possibility of weather conditions and the pilot's actions, rather than a technical glitch.

The report also states that the pilot, Ura Zubaian, has recorded over 8,200 hours of air travel in his life, receiving high scores in aviation under difficult conditions, and has piloted quite a few famous and basketball stars in his past.

Bryant's widow, Vanessa, also released a date for her husband's funeral. In Los Angeles, the event was reported on Feb. 24, at Staples Center, the Lakers home hall that has been the home of the big star for 18 years.
