The announcement fell, dry as a press release from his B & B Hotels team which will compete in the next Tour de France: sixteen months after his brother Tanguy, Jimmy Turgis is also forced, at 28, to stop his career prematurely professional cyclist for the same reason, namely heart disease.
"I suffer from a heart condition which worsens with intensive effort and I cannot continue playing high performance sport," explained the eldest brother Turgis in this press release.
“At the end of 2019, new exams revealed extrasystoles then, ten days ago at the Nantes University Hospital, my teammates and I passed high intensity stress tests. There it was decided to carry out in-depth reviews. The results are clear. The ax fell: since Monday, Jimmy Turgis is no longer a professional cyclist.

He was trained in cycling at US Metro, the club led by his father Rémy, before going professional at Roubaix LM and spending two seasons at Cofidis.
His brother Anthony, 25, runs for the Total Direct Energy team. Tanguy Turgis, for his part, after stopping his own career became sports director of VCP Loudéac, the reserve team of B & B Hotels.
