Erding beat HC Landsberg with a 5-2 deficit after a 2-0 deficit
Erding - What a game on Friday evening in the Erdinger ice rink. The gladiators were already 2-0 down against HC Landsberg, and the Riverkings were close to 3-0, when the game suddenly tipped over, and in the end the hosts cheered a 5-2 victory (0-1, 2-1, 3: 0)
Erdings coach Thomas Vogl was suddenly spoiled for choice. Because some players had reported fit, he had more than three complete blocks available. Christoph Schedlbauer was back in goal for the first time after his injury break.
The gladiators sparkled with enthusiasm and immediately pushed the pace. But the Riverkings were good in defense. They were on the defensive and lurking for Erdinger's mistakes. The hosts did just that in the 6th minute, and Tobias Wedl put the HCL in the lead with a low shot. As a result, the gladiators ran, had some options, but were too imprecise in the end. Then a precarious situation for the Erdinger, who survived a 3: 5 outnumber without being damaged.
The gladiators came out of the cabin with momentum, but were then caught cold because Adriano Carciola made it 2-0 for the Riverkings after a bully (25th). This hit had an effect, because now the hosts were completely out of the role, even in the majority nothing wanted to succeed. Not so with the Landsbergers, who were now bursting with confidence. When the Riverkings were outnumbered twice in a row, it was 3-0 in the air several times, but Schedlbauer not only kept outstanding, but also his team in the game. When the gladiators once again had the majority, the 1: 2 fell - Florian Zimmermann pushed a Dürr pass over the line (36th). Now the gladiators were back in play, and 41 seconds before the second break Sebastian Lachner completed an exemplary attack to make it 2-2.
In the final third, the Landsbergers had changed their tactics and played aggressive forchecking. The Erdinger could not cope with that and could hardly free themselves. But then it worked. After brilliant preparatory work by Lachner, Daniel Krzizok finished from close range to 3-2 (48th). And just three minutes later, a placed wrist shot by Philipp Michl struck 4-2. With that, the gladiators had finally turned the game, and now the powerplay worked: Marco Babic increased to 5: 2 (58th).
