Evgeny Ustyugov is no longer Olympic relay biathlon champion. This Saturday, the International Federation (IBU) took away the gold medal, acquired at the Sochi Olympics in 2014, from the Russian athlete for doping offenses. He was penalized for using oxandrolone, a steroid. Ustyugov, who had stopped his career in 2014, also sees all his results for the 2013-2014 season canceled.
The disciplinary proceedings opened by the IBU could also remove Evgeny Ustyugov from his title at the Vancouver Games. In 2010, the Russian won the first Olympic coronation on the mass start. In this race, the Frenchman Martin Fourcade then took second place. If proven, the Catalan would then hold six gold medals at the Olympic Games (in addition to two in Sochi and three in Pyeongchang).
