Sochi (dpa) - Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken (Ilsenburg / Suhl) underlined their supremacy with the two-seaters and celebrated the third World Cup victory in succession with their first victory at the World Toboggan Run in Sochi.
The overall World Cup leaders won on the 2014 Olympic track ahead of the Russians Aleksander Denisew / Wladislaw Antonow and their teammates Tobias Wendl / Tobias Arlt (Berchtesgaden / Königssee).
At the start of the non-Olympic sprint, the two-time Olympic gold medalists Wendl / Arlt won the first medal for the German bobsleigh and sled association on the previous day, Eggert / Benecken only finished fourth. The two best German two-seaters with three titles each have won the last six World Cups in a row.
