2020-02-16T19:56:42.601Z

At the end of three perfect days, Dijon won the Leaders Cup by disposing of the Asvel (77-69) in a tight final.

Dijon, co-leader of the French Championship with Monaco, won this Sunday at Disneyland Paris in Marne-la-Vallée (Seine-et-Marne) the first Leaders Cup in its history, by defeating Villeurbanne, 3rd in Elite, 77 to 69, at the end of the suspense.

The JDA has chained a 15th consecutive victory on the national level (12 in the championship then three this weekend in Marne-la-Vallée), to fetch the third trophy in its history after the 2006 Coupe de France and the Ace Week (predecessor of the Leaders Cup) in 2004.

The Burgundians were at the end of their dream after having left Bourg-en-Bresse (104-79) in the quarterfinals on Friday then Monaco (83-81) in the semifinals on Saturday. Against ASVEL, the Dijonnais finished the work (77-69).

As the day before against the Monegasques, Dijon has developed treasures of energy to reverse a compromised situation. If during the first quarter the players of Côte-d'Or dominate (23-13), they see back on their heels the Asvel led by a fantastic Jordan Taylor, author of 17 points. It is in the mind that Dijon, still hooked (64-64) three minutes from the end, ends up winning.
