Cologne (dpa) - The national players Manuel Neuer and Joshua Kimmich are in the starting eleven of FC Bayern Munich in the away game at 1. FC Köln despite week-long training breaks.
Goalkeeper Neuer had a break during the week because of a gastrointestinal infection, Kimmich because of a cold. Alphonso Davies, who suffered from ankle problems during the week, and David Alaba, who was restricted by muscular problems, are also in the starting eleven.
His starting eleven comeback is somewhat surprising for Kingsley Coman, who played for the first time in the 0-0 win against RB Leipzig last week after a two-month injury break as a substitute. "He is fit again, but not yet at 100 percent. We want to bring him back slowly due to the next games," said trainer Hansi Flick on TV channel Sky. Like Leon Goretzka, Lucas Hernández initially sits on the bench. "On the defensive it is important that you are well-rehearsed," said Flick. The Munich team has to win in Cologne to be at the top of the table again at the end of the 22nd matchday.
The Cologne team play in a new, red carnival jersey and start with the same eleven players as in the 4-0 in the last game against Freiburg two weeks ago. Ismail Jakobs, who paused during the week because of tonsillitis, is there.
