After a convincing performance, the EC Peiting wins 5: 3 against EV Lindau. Jubilee Anton Saal leads Peiting to Siegerstrasse.
Peiting - It seems that EC Peiting has now properly arrived in the championship round of the Oberliga Süd. Against EV Lindau, the Peitinger celebrated their third victory in a row on Sunday evening. Anton Saal became the main player in the 5-3 home win - in a special game for him.
The first attack of the game belongs to the guests from Lindau. Then the ECP takes over. Nardo Nagtzaam (3rd) has the first big chance. The Dutchman is served by Ty Morris on the post removed from the puck, but pushes the window past the empty gate. Peiting runs. Then it is like against Memmingen on Friday that Anton Saal gets the 1-0. In his 500th game for EC Peiting, he coolly dusted off to the 1-0 lead (8th) and kept a straight face. The first majority of the game leaves peiting unused. The Lindauers also achieved good deals in the first third. ECP goalie Florian Hechenrieder is always on hand. He takes center stage after 15 minutes of play when he has to parry several times in one action. Until the end of the first phase, Thomas Heger and Dominic Krabbat still have opportunities to increase the Peitinger leadership. Both fail because of Michael Böhm in the EVL gate.
Peiting extends its lead in the second third
The "Islanders" get into the second third better, but aim too imprecise in the end. Then the ECP is outnumbered again. And this time the Peitinger strike. Morris still fails on the post, but shortly afterwards it makes Saal better again. The returnee switches quickly and hits the 2-0 (23rd). The home team increases the pressure and has chance after chance. The EVL holds against it. An exciting game is developing. The next goal belongs to the ECP. Morris flips the puck out of his wrist to make it 3-0 (28th) into the net. Lindau takes a break and changes the goalkeeper. That does not change the Peitingen superiority, even when Lindau is in the majority. In equal numbers, the ECP even increased to 4: 0 (34th). After a strong counter attack, Thomas Heger dusted off. Due to a lack of concentration in the game structure, the Peitinger give the EVL the goal to 1: 4. Ludwig Nirschl (36.) still manages to overcome the strong Hechenrieder. With 4: 1 it goes into the second break of the third.
EC Peiting wins 5: 3 against EV Lindau
In the final section, Peiting quickly gets back on track. Krabbat increased to 5: 1 (44th). However, it only takes a few seconds for Lindau to restore the old three-goal gap. Hechenrieder fends off the target, Florian Lüsch is on the spot and scores. The ECP then has control of the game and is in no danger of losing the lead. However, the Peitingen team missed numerous opportunities to make the result even clearer. The "Islanders" were awarded a penalty five minutes before the end of the game. Hechenrieder wins the duel. Two minutes later, Lindau comes 3: 5. Andreas Farny pokes the puck over the line. Lindau takes the goalie off the ice. Another goal is not scored. Peiting wins 5: 3 and makes the six-point weekend perfect.
