Germering - The first of two possible titles is in the polariom: Germering's ice hockey hikers are Bayern Cup winners in 2020. After two victories against Waldkraiburg, they were able to receive the trophy on Sunday evening and let the 450-spectator set the season record.

Germering - The 5: 2 (1: 0, 1: 1, 3: 1) final victory provided a foretaste of a possible duel against the same opponent in the promotion playoffs to the Landesliga and was a worthy cup final.

From the first minute it was clear: the walkers could not expect a walk like the previous district league games. The home side worked out better chances. However, because Waldkraiburg's goalkeeper Fabian Birk was outstanding and his teammates fought against it, a game developed at eye level. "You can tell that the Waldkraiburger have many players with Bayernliga experience in the squad," said Wanderers spokesman Markus Degenhardt. But his Germeringer have a US boy: JC Cangelosi took the lead just before the first break.

Also in the middle section, neither team was able to achieve clear advantages. Waldkraiburg equalized by penalty after a hiker illegally blocked the puck with his hand in the goal area. Five minutes later, however, Louis Kolb again led the hosts. A triple strike by Cangelosi and two more goals from Quirin Reichen at the beginning of the final third finally brought the Wanderers on the winning road - especially since a draw after the first leg would have been enough for them. Thereafter, the team of coach Petr Vorisek rocked the game confidently over time.

Already on Saturday at the unusual early afternoon, the Wanderers had to crack a hard first leg nut in Waldkraiburg. In the end, they won 5: 4 (1: 3, 3: 0, 1: 1). But for the first time this season it looked as if the Germeringer had found their master. Manuel Winkler brought the Wanderers into the lead. After that, however, the hosts were the more active and playfully better team. Although Severin Dürr had a cream Saturday in the Germeringer Kasten, he had to reach three times behind him. After the 1: 3 deficit, his men in front showed a completely different face and found the game much better. The game was turned after goals from Konstantin Kolb, Michael Dorfner and Cangelosi. Because Waldkraiburg still managed to get the connection, the Wanderers had to tremble for their close victory until the end. But 24 hours later, the polariom shook on Sunday evening.
