The regional league men of HSG Würm-Mitte are not the favorites. On Saturday, the handball players slap again: At home it sets a 21:31 pack against Altenerding.
Würmtal - "There is no explanation right now." Sascha Schrödter was left baffled on Saturday evening. He and trainer colleague Markus Wuttke had just seen how their HSG Würm center at home was shot down by the previously twelfth-placed SpVgg Altenerding at 21:31.
Thus, the Würmtal handball players not only slipped to tenth in the Landesliga table, they are now back in the middle of the relegation battle. Depending on how many teams have to end up in the district league, the worm cushion is still four or five points.

It was not the first time that Würm-Mitte had a difficult time against a team from the table cellar. While the HSG is always good for surprises in duels with the top teams - such as the draw against leaders TSV Haunstetten and the second-placed Eichenauer SV - it occasionally stumbles against supposedly weaker opponents.
Schrödter: "Unlearn to lose and learn to win"
"If we are favorites, we cannot play as liberated," said Schrödter. The coach did not have a solution to this problem. "After the Bayern League season last year, with many defeats, we have to unlearn how to lose and learn how to win."
Two ten-minute phases of weakness in the second half broke Würm-Mitte's neck on Saturday. The hosts also lacked something in the first round. Little worked defensively. “We had problems with the cover, didn't work well as a collective. The opponent isolated us well, ”said Schrödter, who was at least satisfied with the performance on the offensive. 16 goals conceded are simply too much. The gap was still limited at 14:16.
Blackouts at Würm-Mitte: Altenerding pulls away and wins
Immediately after the break, nothing worked at Würm-Mitte. Altenerding pulled away to 21:14 in seven minutes. Between 40th and 50th minute the HSG pulled itself together again and reduced the gap to four goals (21:25). In the last ten minutes of the game, however, the next "blackout of us all" (Schrödter) followed without a goal. "That happens, but must not happen again."
The coaches now have two weeks to work through the mistakes. "The break is good for us," says Schrödter. Then it goes to TSV Simbach, the next cellar child.
