After all, the destination was in the Allgäu, a few kilometers south of Kempten, and then this long journey was due on a working day. "We were aware of the difficulty of getting a relegation candidate on the Friday night after two hours of driving and, after everyone had worked during the day, a decent game," summarized the HT coach. The hosts actually held out against it for a long time, they even led 4: 3 (8th), and after the change made up for the HT team's 13:11 break advantage again to 14:14 (36th). But then thanks to three goals from Melanie Johannsen, including two seven meters, the championship leader dropped to 17:14 (40th) and finally expanded the lead in line with the game. "Our motivation and the will were there," Götsch assured that the opponents had not been underestimated at the beginning.
Despite the sometimes tight score, he didn't see any real problems for his team anyway: “Waltenhofen tried very hard, but you could see that we were just better. At first we could not convert the superiority into a corresponding lead because we produced a lot of technical errors. In defense we weren't as sure as usual. Better exploitation of opportunities would also have helped. ”
In the end, however, there were two calculated points, which were further enhanced the day after by the 32:35 defeat of second-placed SV Laim at Kissinger SC. Four weeks earlier, the HT team had also lost to the Swabians strong at home. "Our defeat in Kissing is no longer significant," Götsch gladly accepted the rifle aid, but he also emphasized that in the promotion race, as in Waltenhofen, your own results were decisive: "Of course we were happy that Laim Has given up, but we're still just looking at ourselves. We have it in our own hands. It is important that we achieve these compulsory victories, so it doesn't matter. ”
